What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Our academy is named Gentle Method because we isolate the truest core of the art: a system so technically refined that you can cleanly end a conflict without either you or your attacker sustaining injuries. Yet, this gentle art carries absolute authority—forming the mandatory defensive foundation for modern tactical defense and elite competitive martial systems worldwide.
Tracing its lineage back to traditional Japanese combat systems, Jiu-Jitsu was brought to Brazil in the early 20th century and stripped of all unnecessary flair. What remained was a pure science of leverage, skeletal alignment, and positioning. It was built specifically to empower a smaller, physically weaker individual to confidently neutralize, control, and defeat a much larger adversary completely free of size or power requirements.

Uniforms are not required for your first class, but they are strongly recommended for every student and required for promotions and progress tracking. We are beginner-friendly, with no prior experience needed. Choose white, black, or pink and order a complete gi-and-belt package directly from Gentle Method.
